3L Turbo Diesel 4x4 Toyota Hiace Campervan

This is a lot of van!
Gypsy is a roomy, powerful, and ultra-reliable 1999 model Toyota Hiace Campervan, with the rare combination of a turbo-diesel engine, full-range 4-wheel drive, super-long wheel base and a professional Campervan conversion ? pop-up, kitchen, Queen-size bed (or table and benches) ? and MUCH MORE. (Read lists below.) She looks great on the outside, too! No accidents, no rust, and minimal superficial scratches on a dark grey body.
We?re completing our tour of Australia. It?s time for Gypsy to find her next owner. She has so many great attributes, it?s easier for you to read a list. Engine and interior all in great working condition. You can take her and go touring immediately!
The basics:
3L turbo-diesel engine with 60-litre fuel tank
Automatic transmission
Super-long wheel base (adds about 50 cm of length)

Power steering
Air conditioning
Rhino security system, including kill start
120-watt solar panel that recharges auxillary and main batteries
60-litre water tank
Auxillary deep-cycle battery

Fog lights
Rear tow bar

Four approved seat belts
Wide cabin with two buckets seats and large storage console, with pass-through access to back of van
The uber-cool conversion that make this van a comfortable home includes:
Canvas pop-up with three screened, zipper windows for cross ventilation. (We?ve had this up in rain and 60-knot winds and stayed nice and cosy)
Queen-size bed that can stay set up as you travel, or be quickly rearranged into bench seating with table
3-way fridge (runs off 240V, 12V battery and best of all for free-camping -- gas!)
Two-burner gas stove and grill
Sink (with reliable water pump and grey water drainage)
Tons of storage -- four drawers, five cabinets, and two massive units under the bed that can be accessed from the top or back of the van
Black-out curtains all around for perfect privacy
More than adequate 12V lighting, including reading lights in the bed area
240V plug-ins
Inverter for charging 240V electronics from the 12V auxillary battery
TV and DVD player
Adjustable shelving in pop-up area for extra storage
We?re also including many additional items and improvements we?ve made, including:
New heavy-duty rear shocks
New VHF 80-channel CB radio and antenna
ProRack roof racks for additional storage (we keep our snorkel gear and other toys up there!)
12V compressor -- works great for inflating and deflating tyres in remote locations
Camp 7 Australian touring book
15-amp extension cord
Mosquito nets that fit over the back and sliding doors
Cross-bar for loosening lug nuts, plus hollow steel pipe for leg leverage to make changing tyres very easy for women
Remaining fluids -- oil, coolant, brake fluid, etc.
Spare fuel filter
2 full sets of spare engine belts (that is, eight belts)
Kitchen utensils, dishes, pots, etc.
Refrigerator thermometer
Two 4 kg gas bottles
Emergency triangle
First aid kit
Sheets, doona cover, pillows, memory foam mattress topper
Removable carpeting
OK, we?ve mentioned the turbo-diesel factor. We chose turbo (hard to find in a Hiace!) over a regular diesel engine because for a 2-tonne van, it means you won?t be slogging along but actually keeping up with regular traffic, in the city or highway. On the highway, Gypsy gets an average 9 km/litre (that?s about 21 miles per gallon if you?re an American!) -- very good going!
We have all past owner records plus records for our work on the van, which we have serviced every 5000 km. Like most campervans of this calibre, Gypsy is an import. Don?t that scare you! She?s a Toyota, and finding parts has not once been a problem.
Gypsy will be in the Northern Rivers/Coffs Harbour area in early to mid-November, which is when we want to sell her.
